Travel Insurance

Travel Insurance provides peace of mind for travellers while they are away from their province or country of residence in the event of an unforeseen medical emergency, whether it be an illness or an accident.

We offer travel insurance to any and all travelers regardless of medical condition as we have a variety of companies to protect you.  We have annual plans, single trip coverage, trip cancellation/interruption, tour packages, travel accident, student plans, visitor to Canada and Super Visa insurance.

For people who will be renting a vehicle during their trip, we offer a rental car policy through Manitoba Public Insurance. It is an excellent policy that includes a $100 deductible for all perils and $10,000,000 third party liability. It is also much less expensive than insurance options that rental car companies generally offer!

Did you know you are not covered for everything while travelling within Canada?  Coverage is very inexpensive if you are travelling within Canada and will keep you protected in the event of an emergency.

Travelling outside of Canada

If you are going on a trip outside of Canada you will need protection for you and your family in case of an unforeseen medical emergency or accident. In addition, Travel Insurance can help cover your travel plans if they are cancelled or interrupted. We can offer Travel Insurance on an annual or single trip basis.

We can offer coverage for ALL travelers regardless of pre-existing medical conditions, whether stable or not. If your doctor has said you can travel, we can get you and your pre-existing medical conditions covered.

Travelling abroad, and not within the USA

We offer Non-USA rates which are much less than if you are travelling to the USA.  Worldwide coverage excluding the USA is available.

Travelling on a Thrill Adventure

We offer coverage for Contact Sports, Adventure Sports and Extreme Sports thrill seekers.

Travel Insurance provides coverage for items such as:
  • Emergency medical treatment including hospital and doctors’ fees, tests, x-rays and more
  • New Prescription drugs from an illness while on a trip
  • Ambulance services – air, land and seas, including emergency return air transportation to Canada
  • Escort and return home of minor accompanying children
  • Return of vehicle
  • Repatriation
  • Emergency dental treatment
  • Direct payment to hospitals and coordination with government plans
  • Multilingual medical and travel assistance 24/7 anytime, anywhere

Types of Travel Coverage

Annual Plan

One annual purchase covers you or your family for an entire year.  For instance, if you purchase the 15 day multi trip annual plan, you can travel up to 15 days EACH TRIP for a one year period (top up days available if trips are longer).  This means you can travel every month if you wish for 15 days each trip and only pay the premium once a year. There are a variety of annual plans available.

Single Trip Plan

This plan is for the single trip traveler.

Canadian Expatriate

While travelling outside of Canada for an extended period of time, your government health plan may not cover you. There are options available to cover any gaps from the time your government health insurance expires to when coverage would be reinstated.

Trip Cancellation

Offer multiple coverage options which cover different components of your trip from your airfare to your transportation and land expenses.  Trip Cancellation includes Trip Interruption.  Trip Interruption is there for you if you need to return home for a medical emergency of a family member for instance.  It will also allow you to return to your trip destination providing your trip hasn’t reached its original return date.

Tour

The tour plan is designed to cover you for all aspects of your trip and is the perfect option for any tour, cruise or all-inclusive package you may have booked. The Tour plan will cover all components of your trip, which may include transportation, accommodation and excursions. The tour plan has additional benefits of included medical coverage as well as damage to baggage.

Visitors to Canada

The Visitors to Canada plan is ideal for Super Visa applicants, landed immigrants and returning Canadians waiting for Government Health Insurance Plan coverage who are looking for emergency only coverage.

  • Do not leave home without travel medical insurance and always read your policy and wordings.  Every insurance policy has policy limits and exclusions.
  • Check any Travel Health Notices outlining potential health risks as well as any measures that can be taken to reduce these risks.
  • Check with your health care provider for vaccination recommendations before you travel abroad
  • Carry a basic travel health kit no matter where you travel
  • Extreme heat and sunlight can be dangerous to your health. Make sure to stay hydrated, dress for the weather, limit your time in the sun, use sunscreen, wear sunglasses and avoid sun exposure.
  • Using cellphones, mobile devices and computers while travelling can be expensive. Check with your carrier to see what roaming charges may apply, even within Canada.
  • If you are travelling with your pet, check the specific requirements for transporting animals across the border if driving or with the airline to find out if you need to do anything before arriving at the airport. Health certificates or other documentation may be required when taking your pet on an airplane or to another country, including the United States.

Check the website to ensure there are no travel advisories for where you plan to travel as coverage is always excluded if there is a no travel advisory at your destination.    https://travel.gc.ca/travelling/advisories
